Kongnamulbap (Bean Sprout Rice)


Ingredients

Rice----------2cups
Washed Bean Sprouts----------7oz

B
eef----------3.5oz 

Beef Seasoning

Soy Sauce----------1tsp
Sugar----------1/2tsp
Chopped Garlic----------1tsp
Ground Pepper
Sesame Oil

Sauce

Soy Sauce----------4tbs
Sugar----------1tbs
Chopped Garlic----------1tbs
Chopped Green Onion-----4tbs
Whole Sesame Seeds-----1tbs
Sesame Oil----------1tbs
Ground Red Pepper-----1/2tbs

Method

1. Wash rice and soak in water for 30 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, make beef seasoning and cut beef into strips (a little thicker than bean sprout). Marinate beef.

3. Place marinated meat on the bottom of the rice container and put rice over it. Pour water about the same volume as rice and cook.

4. When rice is almost done (ten minutes or so), place washed bean sprouts and wait for 15 more minutes.

5. Make sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients.

6. Serve rice and sauce seperately.

Simple dish that is easy to prepare and fun to eat.
It has been suggested (by Korean moms) that
eating lots of bean sprouts will help you grow tall
like a bean sprout.
